Hello:  I,  Ken and my wife Barb are the Co-Presidents for the
Iowa Winnie Hawks in 2017.

Notes from the  President

Well the wind is blowing and the leaves are falling - Must be
getting time to turn back the clocks and for a lot of us, get our
RV's headed south.

We start out with the sad new of Steve Hanel passing away.
He fought a courageous battle. Barb and I only had a few
occasions to spend time with Steve and Julie, but I know we
will never see the "Big Red Tomato" without thinking of Steve.
Our sympathies are with Julie.

We are still working away finalizing the plans for next years
State Campouts.  We are excited about the plans coming
together for the State Rally. We feel there will be something of
interest for everyone, from manufacturing, antiques, small town
history, patriotic music, and more.  We hope those that attend
will get the feel of an old fashion summer in Iowa.  With the
State Rally being at Hampton IA, just east, off I35, it is a good
rest stop for distant travelers heading to GNR at Forest City,
which is only about 1 1/2 hrs. north of Hampton.

Some information received this week was that the "Chapter of
Excellence" form will be Emailed March 1, 2017.  There will be
some changes to the forms, (so be aware).  We would like all
the local chapters to have forms completed and signed by
May1st so that can be reviewed at the May Campout and into
Forest City By June 1st when they are due.

In closing we want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and
Safe travels, may the wind be at your back.  Don't forget to invite
guests and new members to our outings.

Remember You are our best ambassadors.
